When I first started breastfeeding it was tough. I didn't know if I was doing it right and I didn't have much information or help. I knew I wanted to stick with it and give my daughter the best start in life possible, but I didn't know the right techniques that would help me avoid complications. I read articles, books and searched online, but the bits and pieces of information here and there, were hard to put together...
Eventually with time, seeking the right experts, going through tons of different information and trying different methods I figured out what worked. It took a lot of trial and error and learning, but soon breastfeeding became super simple and second nature to me. I was able to confidently and comfortably feed my daughter knowing she was getting the essential nutrients she needed, while I didn't have to worry about what to do.
Though, I often wish I had taken a breastfeeding course to prevent some of the breastfeeding issues I faced. The fact is, I thought it would be simple and I didn't have the time to take a class, nor did I know how necessary it was. I also didn't want to take time out of my day to drive back and forth to a class that I wasn't sure I would need.
While it eventually became easy, it took a while for me to learn. Through research, trial and error and experience I figured out what worked.
Later on, I became a Lactation Educator Counselor (CLEC), so I could teach other new and expecting moms about breastfeeding and also help them solve some of their problems.
What I've realized is that new and expecting moms need a simple way to learn about breastfeeding best practices, to avoid complications before they even start. A way that allows them to learn on their own time, from the comfort of their own home.
That's why I decided to create the Easy-Breezy Breastfeeding online eCourse.
